The makers of Aja Sundari on Sunday unveiled the first look of Joju George from the film, which also stars Lijomol Jose in the lead. The poster features Joju seated inside a bus, holding a goat on his lap, while looking out with an intense gaze. The image was released with the caption “Sundariye kaanmanilla” (Sundari is missing) and the hashtag MissingGoat, indicating that the narrative revolves around the disappearance of a goat.
Aja Sundari marks the directorial debut of editor Manu Antony, who has previously worked on films such as Pani, Iratta, Padmini and Christy. The upcoming film is jointly scripted by Manu and Geetartha AR, with additional screenplay by Saneth Radhakrishnan. Aashiq Abu serves as the cinematographer, while music is composed by Gopikrishnan P N of Drumyuga, also known by his indie moniker 6091. Manu has also edited the film.
The project was initially announced with Soubin Shahir as the male lead and co-producer, with Manjummel Boys actor's Parava Films backing the film alongside Aashiq’s OPM Cinemas. However, Joju later replaced Soubin in the lead role for undisclosed reasons, following which Soubin and Shawn Antony exited the production.
Aja Sundari is now being produced solely by OPM Cinemas, with Jaison Francis serving as co-producer. Further details regarding the film’s release are expected to be announced later.
