Mammootty-Khalid Rahman film dropped by Cubes Entertainments

This was supposed to be Mammootty and Khalid Rahman's reunion after their successful collaboration on Unda

Just a month after it was announced, the Mammootty-starrer to be directed by Khalid Rahman and produced by Cubes Entertainments has been dropped. Sources close to the production house have confirmed to us that the banner has opted out of the project and will instead be producing another film with Mammootty. All posts related to the film’s announcement have been removed from Cubes Entertainments’ official social media handles.

It remains to be seen whether the Mammootty-Khalid Rahman project will be taken up by another banner. The actor-director duo had earlier collaborated on Unda, which went on to become both a critical and commercial success. Their proposed reunion was reportedly planned as a gangster film, with Naslen also part of the cast, though there is currently no clarity on its future.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has recently begun shooting for Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Padayaatra, marking his fourth collaboration with the legendary filmmaker after Anantaram, Mathilukal, and Vidheyan. The film is co-written by Adoor and K V Mohan Kumar, and is produced by Mammootty’s own banner, MammoottyKampany.

Cubes Entertainments, headed by Shareef Muhammed, made its production debut in 2024 with the blockbuster Marco, starring Unni Mukundan. The banner’s second production, Kattalan, an action-heavy film headlined by Antony Varghese, is slated for release on May 14.
