The makers of Antony Varghese Pepe's Kattalan organised a grand teaser launch event at Kochi on Friday. The teaser promises a violent actioner set against the backdrop of ivory smuggling. Antony is introduced as a cold-blooded hunter who ruthlessly kills an elephant for its ivory. Singer Hanan Shaah seems to be playing his close aide as they hunt and fight goons together. The film is directed by debutant Paul George, who has also co-written it with Joby Varghese and Jero Jacob. Unni R has penned the dialogues.

Kattalan marks the second production venture of Shareef Muhammed's Cubes Entertainments after Marco. The upcoming film boasts a strong star cast, which includes actors from multiple industries. Dushara Vijayan is making her Malayalam debut by playing the female lead. Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Raj Tirandasu, Baby Jean, Shon Joy, Parth Tiwari, Shibin S Raghavan, and many others are part of the cast.

Kattalan is scheduled to hit screens on May 14, a day ahead of two other biggies: Athiradi—starring Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Sreenivasan—and Naslen's Mollywood Times, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak.
