Firefly Films, which produced Sarvam Maya alongside director Akhil Sathyan's eponymous banner, announced a while ago that the film has grossed 50 crore from theatres in Kerala. The confirmation comes days after the makers revealed that its worldwide box office collection has crossed 100 crore. The film tells the story of a struggling guitar player (Nivin Pauly) who turns into a priest with his cousin (Aju Varghese) to make ends meet until his musical ambitions become real. However, things become a little complicated when a ghost (Riya Shibu) enters his life.

In 13 days of its release, the film has earned an approximate net collection of 54.75 crore from theatres in India, according to Sacnilk data. So far this Wednesday, it has netted 16 lakhs at the domestic box office, the industry tracker reports.

Sarvam Maya has ended the recent string of box office failures for Nivin Pauly in the context of non-multistarrer films. Despite earning positive reviews from critics, his films such as Moothon, Mahaveeryar, Padavettu, and Thuramukham did not do as well as expected at the box office. On the other hand, he also had commercially and critically underperforming films, such as Saturday Night, Ramachandra Boss and Co, and Malayalee From India.

The latest comedy film from Akhil Sathyan has been widely appreciated as a comeback vehicle for Nivin, with critics and audiences appreciating his return to the likeable hero avatar that he played so well earlier in his career.
