The first look of Prithviraj Sukumaran's new film Santhosh Trophy is out. The poster features a central figure (played by Prithviraj) wearing a mask with animal-like features. He is surrounded by a cluster of similar exaggerated, folk-style masks reminiscent of Theyyam and other ritual performance art from Kerala. Santhosh Trophy is written and directed by Vipin Das, who earlier collaborated with Prithviraj on Guruvayoorambala Nadayil.
The film went on floors last September, when the makers also announced that the cast will feature around 60 newcomers. It has Aravind Puthussery as the cinematographer, Johnkutty as the editor and Ankit Menon as the music director. Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen are jointly producing the film.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj has i, Nobody, directed by Nissam Basheer, and Khalifa, directed by Vysakh, at different stages of production. The actor also has the Hindi film Daayra, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, and the SS Rajamouli directorial Varanasi lined up. On the other hand, Vipin Das is awaiting the release of Vaazha 2, which he is scripting and co-producing. Headlined by a bunch of social media talents, the film is set to hit screens on April 2.
