Indian cinema has seen its fair share of bitter relationship experiences involving stars, and actor Mamta Mohandas recently talked about a similarly unpleasant incident. In a recent conversation with Suhasini Maniratnam, the actor opened up like never before.

During the conversation, Mamta revealed that she had a heartbreaking experience with an actor, whom she dated after coming out of cancer. She said that the actor asked her out on a date soon after his engagement with someone else, something which she learnt only a month after the fact. She disclosed that only the male actor's brother told her about his relationship status. "I told his brother, 'What? Then, why did he ask me out on a date?' So there was a little bit of a lie there," the actor revealed.

Mamta Mohandas said that the experience broke her heart because she even told her mother about her relationship for the first time. "This was the first time I told my mom, 'Someone has asked me out on a date and may I go?' And she said 'yes,'" Mamta revealed. The actor added that she asked for her mother's permission to go out on a date because she is her only child and that her parents are "very protective" of her.

Mamta also revealed that she was seeing another person even after the aforementioned incident but could not continue the relationship because of his limited presence for her. She said that the other man would only reply to her calls and messages only a few days later, causing her to think that it is a waste of her time.

On the work front, Mamta is set to come back to Tamil cinema after 2024's Maharaja with a film titled My Dear Sister.
