Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Malayalam biggie I’m Game has reportedly bagged a record-breaking music rights deal, with Zee Music acquiring the rights for Rs 12.5 crore. The deal is being touted as the biggest music rights deal in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Directed by RDX-fame Nahas Hidhayath, I’m Game is billed as a big-budget fantasy action thriller and marks Dulquer’s 40th film as an actor. Dulquer is producing the project along with Jom Varghese under their Wayfarer Films banner. The new development comes ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on September 3. I’m Game will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.

The film’s music, composed by Jakes Bejoy, has already caught on with listeners. The first single, ‘Mazhavillaye’, and the recently released ‘Loser’ have both gained traction on social media. ‘Loser’ features Dulquer as a singer, alongside rap portions by Reble and Neeraj Madhav. Dulquer performed ‘Loser’ live at the film’s pre-release and music launch event held on Saturday at the KINFRA International Exhibition Centre in Kakkanad. The event, attended by thousands of fans, also featured performances by Vedan, Zeba Tommy, Armaan Malik and Jakes.

I’m Game follows Dulquer’s Dan John, a gambler who approaches the game through an algorithm instead of relying purely on luck. His carefully calculated system begins to fall apart when the tables turn against him, setting off a chain of unexpected events. Sajeer Baba, Ismail Aboobacker and Bilal Moidu have penned the screenplay based on a story by Nahas, while the dialogues are written by Sajeer Baba, Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed. The cast also includes Antony Varghese, Tamil actor-filmmaker Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan, among others.

I’m Game was originally scheduled to release on August 20 as an Onam release alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa and Nivin Pauly-Mamitha Baiju’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
