Vineeth Sreenivasan is set to headline Chadang, directed by debutant Abhijith Sarya. The upcoming project commenced production on Sunday with a pooja ceremony held in Kochi. Meenakshi Madhavan plays the female lead in the film, which is set against the backdrop of a family in Malabar.

Jointly scripted by Abhijith and Vishnu Vinodan, Chadang also stars Suresh Krishna, Sona Nair, Jagadish, Nihal Nizam, Biju Sopanam and Sreejith Babu.  The film, billed as a horror comedy, has Hello Rashad wielding the camera, Kannan Mohan handling the cuts and Bibin Ashok composing the music. It is produced by Dolwin Kuriakose, Mani Delta, Shabeer Malavattath and M Star Entertainment.

Vineeth was last seen in Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s Mollywood Times, which featured Naslen in the lead. The actor-filmmaker is now reportedly planning his next directorial venture, with unconfirmed reports suggesting a reunion with Nivin Pauly. The duo have a notably successful track record, having previously collaborated on Malarvaadi Arts Club, Thattathin Marayathu, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Varshangalkku Shesham.
