On Sunday, we reported about Rukmini Vasanth being roped in as the female lead for a film with Nivin Pauly and debutant director Nashid Famy. The latest update about the film is that Rukmini Vasanth has started shooting for it. The actor herself announced the update through social media. She captioned the post, "And so it begins NP 51. There's something very special about finding yourself in a place you've admired from afar for so long. To now be a small part of it feels like a very special first for me. So grateful for this one."

Tentatively titled NP 51, the film marks Rukmini Vasanth's debut in Malayalam cinema. Best known for her roles in the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello franchise and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, the actor has already forayed into other languages. Meanwhile, she made her Telugu debut with 2024's Appudo Ippudo Eppudo and Tamil debut with Ace.

Coming back to NP 51, the film also stars Aju Varghese in an important role. It brings him back together with Nivin Pauly after their collaboration on this year's Sarvam Maya, which proved a blockbuster.

The upcoming film is produced by Martin Prakkat under his eponymous banner alongside Nivin's Pauly Jr Pictures, as well as Siby Chavara and Renjith Nair of Green Room Productions. Its technical team includes composer Electronic Kili, cinematographer Bablu Aju, and editor Kannan Mohan.

Coming back to Rukmini Vasanth, the actor is part of two highly-anticipated films in different languages. Her next immediate release is Toxic, co-starring Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi, among others. Slated for an August 26 release in theatres, Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas in her Kannada debut. Her other film, which is expected to release in the near future, is Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel and co-starring Jr NTR.
