Mohanlal’s much-awaited Drishyam 3 teaser will be unveiled on April 29 at 5pm IST, the makers announced on Monday. The announcement was made with a new poster, building anticipation for the third instalment of one of Indian cinema’s most successful franchises. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the upcoming film marks the return of Mohanlal as Georgekutty.

The Drishyam series began in 2013 and followed Georgekutty, a modest cable television operator who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect his family after they become entangled in a crime. Drishyam 2, released directly on Prime Video in 2021, continued the story with the police reopening the case, only for Georgekutty to outwit them once again. The third film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 21, which also coincides with Mohanlal’s birthday. It was earlier slated to release on April 2 before being postponed.

Alongside Mohanlal, the cast includes Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Murali Gopy and KB Ganesh Kumar, all reprising their roles. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, the film is presented by Pen Studios and Panorama Studios.
