The box office collection for director Dijo Jose Antony's Pallichattambi, featuring Tovino Thomas as the protagonist, continues to remain pretty much the same even on the fifth day of its release. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, it has grossed 0.91 crore on Day 5 so far from theatres in India, taking the overall tally to 9.17 crore. In terms of the net collection, the film has minted 7.94 crore from theatres so far.

While Pallichattambi earned 2.90 crore on Vishu, its release day, the film's collection has since dropped to 1.65 crore, 1.18 crore and 1.30 crore on days two, three and four, respectively. According to Sacnilk, the number of shows has also dropped for the film from 1,260 on release day to 643 today.

On the other hand, there has been a marginal improvement in its occupancy rate, which came down from 51 per cent on release day to 29.1 per cent on day four and went back up to 35 per cent so far on Sunday.

Vijayaraghavan and Kayadu Lohar also star in key roles in the film. It also has a cameo from Prithviraj Sukumaran. The makers attempted to keep Prithviraj's cameo hidden from audiences until release date, but the news about it leaked during its production.

Set largely in the 1950s, coinciding with the rule of the first Communist government in Kerala, the film follows a goon who is hired by a church amidst the liberation struggle as it believes that the Communist Party will end their religion.

In our review, Vignesh Madu wrote, "Pallichattambi had all the ingredients to be a standout entry in Tovino’s filmography. With a sharper focus, more layered storytelling, and restraint in its scale-driven approach, it could have been a more compelling socio-political drama. Instead, it remains a film of unrealised potential, weighed down by its own ambitions."
