Vaazha 2 crosses 92 crore at global box office

It is most likely to become the highest-grossing film of the year soon

Director Savin SA and writer Vipin Das's film Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros has been having a great run at the box office. After its five successful days post release, Vaazha 2 earned a little over 7 crore on Tuesday, reported the box office tracker Sacnilk. This takes its overall box office collection to 92.46 crore, the tracker mentioned.

Vaazha II is not a direct sequel to the 2024 film, directed by Anand Menen and written by Vipin Das himself. It is billed as a spiritual sequel, with the story focusing more on a fresh set of characters—some of whom reprise their roles from the 2024 original. The film stars Hashir, Alan, Vinayak, Ajin, Biju Kuttan, Alphonse Puthren, Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese Ameen, and Angel Maria.

Vaazha 2's box office collection has come as a relief for Malayalam cinema, after the failures of some of the recent films. While exhibitors in Kerala have started to get back much money following the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, it is Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros that has emerged as the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2026 so far.

The distinction of being the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year still lies with Aadu 3, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and starring Jayasurya, leading a motley crew of eccentric characters. Reportedly, Aadu 3 has grossed around 119 crore from theatres. With Vaazha II showing no sign of a decline in momentum and with the makers of the Tovino Thomas starrer Pallichattambi postponing its release, the film is most likely to surpass the collection of Aadu 3.
