On Thursday night, Amazon issued a notice where it claims that it holds the rights to stream Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, through Prime Video. Amazon has secured the rights following an agreement between it and the film's producer, Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas.

According to the notice, the company holds "all digital rights (including but not limited to SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, FVOD and EST)" over the Malayalam version of the film. Consequently, it cautioned Aashirvad Cinemas and any other third party "purportedly authorised" by the producer against selling, licensing, or creating "any third-party interest, lien, or charge over the digital rights for the film" in any way.

The company also warned third parties, including people and entities, against breaching its exclusive rights over the film, underscoring that doing so would come with at its "own risk, cost, and consequences".

In other words, the company would litigate the third party concerned in case of an infringement of its exclusivity or the contractual relationship that it has established concerning the movie.

The notice comes shortly after Drishyam 3's producer postponed the theatrical release of the film from April 02 to May 21 amidst the geopolitical tension in West Asia. Notably, May 21 also marks Mohanlal's birthday.

The film brings Mohanlal back together with Jeethu Joseph after 2023's Neru and comes five years after Drishyam 2. Also returning to the cast are Meena, Esther Anil, and Ansiba Hassan as Georgekutty's wife and daughters, respectively. KB Ganesh Kumar and Murali Gopy, too, reprise their roles in the franchise.

Presented by Pen Studios and Panorama Studios, the movie's Hindi version, which stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role, is scheduled for an October 02 release in theatres. Meanwhile, Mohanlal's upcoming movies also include Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan and co-starring Mammootty.
