Earlier today, Mohanlal and Mammootty announced through social media that the Patriot trailer will be screened at Ragam Theatre in Thrissur and Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam at 6:00 pm on April 04, Saturday. While Mohanlal will be present at Kavitha Theatre for the Patriot trailer launch, Mammootty will go to Ragam Theatre for the same. This is the first time in Malayalam cinema's history where both superstars will attend the release of their movie's trailer in theatres. Notably, Mammootty attended the trailer launch of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan last year, but that happened in a private auditorium in Kochi.

Anticipation has been building for the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan directorial, which reunites Mohanlal and Mammootty after a long time. The film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Revathy, and Darshana Rajendran, among others. The makers are yet to reveal plot specifics, but the recently released teaser hints at a political thriller with plenty of action sequences.

Patriot is produced by Anto Joseph under his namesake banner alongside KG Anil Kumar, with CR Saleem and Subhash George Manuel serving as co-producers. On the technical front, it has composer Sushin Shyam, cinematographer Manush Nandan, editors Mahesh himself and Rahul Radhakrishnan, and stunt choreographers Dhilip Subbarayan, Stunt Silva, Mafia Sasi, and Riyas-Habib.

After multiple postponements, the film is slated for a May 01 release in theatres. The makers announced the new release date yesterday and attributed the change to unforeseen circumstances, seemingly alluding to the geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

It is worth noting that Mohanlal's other film, Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph is also set for a theatrical release in the same month. On the other hand, Drishyam 2 will soon have a rerelease, marking its debut in theatres following its digital premiere on Prime Video five years ago.
