The makers of Maa Vande, the upcoming biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unveiled a new poster on Monday celebrating the lead actor Unni Mukundan’s birthday. The film, produced by Veer Reddy M under the Silver Cast Creations banner, is written and directed by Telugu filmmaker Kranthi Kumar CH.

Announced last week on the occasion of Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Maa Vande is billed as a pan-Indian project with releases planned in Hindi, English and several regional languages. The film will chart Modi’s journey from childhood through to his rise as a national leader, with particular emphasis on his relationship with his late mother, Heeraben Modi. The central message, according to the makers, is rooted in the strength and influence of a mother’s willpower.

Unni, who grew up in Ahmedabad during Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, had earlier said that taking on the role is both humbling and daunting. He recalled meeting the Prime Minister in 2023, describing the encounter as a defining moment that left a lasting impression on him. For the actor, Maa Vande is not just about portraying a political figure but about capturing the man behind the statesman, especially his personal values and bond with his mother.

The technical team brings together leading names from Indian cinema, including cinematographer K K Senthil Kumar, editor Sreekar Prasad, production designer Sabu Cyril, composer Ravi Basrur and action choreographer King Solomon. Further details on casting and release plans are expected to be announced in the coming months.
