Amongst those who are congratulating actor Mohanlal for his Dadasaheb Phalke Award win, Selvaraghavan was the latest to laud the actor. Mohanlal was announced as the recipient on September 20.

Taking to X, Selvaraghavan wrote, "I'm soo happy that our Mohanlal sir winning Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Gem of an actor in the world cinema ! A true legend. congratulations and many more to come sir."

Earlier this year, Selvaraghavan also expressed his admiration for Mohanlal's performance in Thudarum. Selvaraghavan wrote, “Brilliant, brilliant movie Thudarum is! Only Mohanlal sir can pull off this film! What an actor! Mesmerised by the best actor in India!”

Thudarum was released on April 25. The film was directed by Tharun Moorthy, and starred Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju. The film centres around Shanmugam, who get entangled in a larger plot that threatens the fate of his family.
