Karthi took to social media to congratulate Mohanlal on the latter being conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke award, India' highest honour for cinema. The announcment was made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, on September 20.

Taking to X, Karthi wrote, "Heartfelt congratulations to Mohanlal sir on being conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award!" He added, "Sir, your ability to dissolve into every role— be it subtle, layered or grand—has given our cinema some of its most nuanced and unforgettable performances. This honour is not just well deserved, it is truly befitting of the legend you are!"

On conferring the award to Mohanlal, the Ministry wrote, "Mohanlal’s remarkable cinematic journey inspires generations! The legendary actor, director, and producer is being honoured for his iconic contribution to Indian Cinema. On winning the award, the Mohanlal took to his X page and wrote, "Truly humbled to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This honour is not mine alone, it belongs to every person who has walked alongside me on this journey." The actor will receive the awards at the ceremony which will be held on September 23.
