Filmmaker Aamir Pallikal, known for Ayisha and ED - Extra Decent, has announced his third film. The project, written by author Lijeesh Kumar, was revealed through social media on Sunday. Aamir said the film will also mark the launch of his new production house.

“After Ayisha and ED, I am moving ahead with my third film. It is written by my dearest Lijeesh Kumar,” he noted. “This time, I am also launching a new production house.” The title and the production banner will be unveiled on October 2 at 6 pm in Kochi. “The cast and crew of the film will be present,” he added.

On the subject of the upcoming film, Aamir explained that it is rooted in the spirit of an NSS camp, probably referring to a college campus. “A film usually requires at least forty-five days of shooting. During the last two films, I told my crew members we should think of ourselves as being in an NSS camp and give it our all for those days,” he wrote.

“Back then, I never imagined I would actually make a film about a real NSS camp. This film is exactly that, the very first full-length Malayalam film set in an NSS camp.” The director said the project aims to evoke campus nostalgia. “You will surely find echoes of your own experiences, the fun-filled NSS days, the songs, the sugarcane, the spirited moments and the countless jokes that still make you smile,” he added.

Writer Lijeesh Kumar described the film as a project born of friendship. “Aamir is a dear friend, and this one is for him,” he said. Recalling their conversations, he added, “He wanted the film to be commercial, youthful, nostalgic and with a love track if possible.” Lijeesh, best known for his book Kanjaavu, is also the director of the learning app start-up Xylem Learning.

Aamir’s directorial debut Ayisha featured Manju Warrier in the lead, while ED - Extra Decent was headlined by Suraj Venjaramoodu.
