Basil Joseph has a cameo role in Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad's film Hridayapoorvam, which hit theatres on August 28. Basil plays a psychiatrist who helps Mohanlal's character deal with height-related anxiety. The film marks his first collaboration with Mohanlal and Sathyan. In a Facebook post earlier today, he shared his thoughts about collaborating with the legendary actor and director. "Working with these two legends has truly been a dream come true. Pure nostalgia — most of my childhood favourites were from this iconic pair. Years later, to play even a small character in their film Hridhayapoorvam was an absolute honour," Basil wrote. The filmmaker-actor also thanked Sathyan, Mohanlal, and the director's son Anoop Sathyan who served as an associate director for the opportunity to work in the film.

According to the box office tracker site Sacnilk, Hridayapoorvam has grossed around 38 crore in the 22 days since its release from theatres in India. In our review of the film, Avinash Ramachandran wrote, "Hridayapoorvam treads in very sketchy regions for a while before finding its feet in the family-friendly space. But it shows signs of an evolution in the filmmaker, who is ably supported by an actor who understands the thin line between cute and garish."

The Mohanlal starrer tells the story of a man navigating life after heart surgery. It also stars Sangeeth Prathap, Malavika Mohanan, Siddique, and Sangita, among others.
