Althaf Salim-Anarkali Marikar's Innocent set for October release

Innocent marks Althaf and Anarkali's reunion after last year's Mandakini

Following last year's Mandakini, Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar are reuniting for Innocent, also a comedy entertainer. The film, directed by Satheesh Thanvi, is gearing up for release in October.

Innocent, according to the makers, is set against the backdrop of bureaucratic red tape and the quirks of everyday life. It marks the Malayalam debut of popular social media personality Kili Paul from Tanzania. Joemon Jyothir, Azees Nedumangad, Mithun, Noby, Anna Prasad, Lakshmi Sanju, Vineeth Thattil, Aswin Vijayan, and Unni Lalu also star in the film.

The makers released a song from the film on Saturday. Titled 'Ambambo', it is a rustic folk track rendered by by Reshma Raghavendra.

Innocent has its story by Shihab Karunagappally. The screenplay and dialogues were handled by Shihab Karunagappally, Sarji Vijayan, and Satheesh Thanvi. It is produced by M. Sreeraj AKD under the banner Elements of Cinema. G Marthandan, Ajay Vasudev, Dixon Poduthas, and Najumuddeen serve as the executive producers. Cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen, editor Riyas K Badhar, and music director Jay Stellar are part of the technical team.

Althaf also has Anas Kadalundi's Manmadhan and the sci-fi comedy Pluto, co-starring Neeraj Madhav, in his upcoming lineup.

Anarkali, meanwhile, is part of Vala, a zombie film that reunites her with the makers and cast of Gaganachari.
