Johnpaul George, best known for his directorial debut Guppy starring Tovino Thomas, announced on Thursday that the title of his new film will be revealed on September 5. The announcement, made via social media, was accompanied by a photo of veteran actor Indrans in an unrecognisable Kathakali attire, hinting at his role in the lead cast.

Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil actor Joemon Jyothir was also tagged in the post, suggesting his involvement in a key role. The film, which has reportedly wrapped up shooting already, is produced under the filmmaker’s home banner Guppy Cinemas, with further details awaited.

The upcoming project marks Johnpaul's third directorial. While Guppy (2016) earned critical acclaim, his second feature Ambili (2019), led by Soubin Shahir, received mixed reviews.

Johnpaul later co-produced Aavesham filmmaker Jithu Madhavan’s directorial debut Romancham, which went on to become a blockbuster.

Indrans was recently seen as a cop in the second season of Kerala Crime Files, a performance that earned him high praise. His upcoming projects include Chinna Chinna Aasai, co-starring Madhoo in the lead, and the Suriya-starrer Karuppu.
