Halloween is here, and horror is the flavour of the season once again. Among the many horror films releasing in the season is Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal and directed by Rahul Sadasivan. The film had its paid premiere the other day and its first shows on release date, today, and many viewers, including those within the industry, have since been praising it. Director Jeo Baby shared a poster of the film on his Instagram Stories, tagged Rahul and expressed his appreciation with the raising hands emoticon. Arjun Ashokan, the star of one of this year's popular horror films Sumathi Valavu, said that the film is "another masterpiece from Rahul Sadasivan". On the other hand, Manju Warrier, wrote, "Loved it!!! This one is going to give you chills!!!"

Vineeth Sreenivasan, who directed Pranav in his last film Varshangalkku Shesham, called it "a must watch". Vineeth also said that Pranav's performance in the film is "menacing". The filmmaker-actor-singer also gave a shout-out to Dies Irae director Rahul and composer Christo Xavier. Netizens also praise actor Gibin Gopinath's performance in the film.

Dies Irae marks a third consecutive outing for Rahul in the horror genre, following the critically acclaimed Bhoothakaalam and Bramayugam. While Bhoothakaalam had a direct-to-streaming release on SonyLIV, Bramayugam reportedly went on to mint over 50 crore from theatres worldwide.
