Digital platform Karikku enters film production

Malayalam cinema now has a Karikku Studios, as the digital platform known for its comedy shorts, web series and music turns into film production. Earlier today, team Karikku announced the venture through social media. In the announcement post, they described Karikku Studios as "a space for movies and web series, creating stories for theatre and OTT platforms."

They also expressed their gratitude to the audience they have gained over the years through their hilarious skit shows. "This dream wouldn't have been possible without the incredible love and support you've shown us over the years. As we take this exciting leap into filmmaking, we look forward to your continued encouragement and blessings."

Earlier today, the production banner also teased its first announcement, which is expected to come soon. Unconfirmed reports suggest that their first film is set to commence production later this year, and that it will be co-produced by Dr Ananthu Productions. For your information, the aforementioned is the banner owned by Dr Ananthu, which is attached as a co-producer for Basil Joseph's maiden production venture, Athiradi.

Many members of the Karikku team have also ventured into acting, notably Anu K Aniyan, Sabareesh Sajjin, Jeevan Mammen Stephen, Anand Mathews, and George Kora.
