Veteran actor Shobhana took to social media on Saturday to share an airport selfie taken with Urvashi, one of her contemporaries during the 1980s and 90s. In her brief note, Shobhana wondered why she had never met Urvashi despite flying to Kochi often. Remembering her old days, she called Urvashi "the same funny podi" that she always knew. It is worth mentioning that Urvashi is called Podimol by her family and close friends. Shobhana ended the note calling her an "amazing, amazing actress", while sounding hopeful that the random meet was an "emotional moment" for Urvashi too.

Shobhana and Urvashi go as long way back, even acting together in a few films in the 1980s. It includes Mukthi, Kshamichu Ennoru Vaakku, and Naalkavala. Although they didn’t have any combination scenes, they both were part of Anoop Sathyan's Varane Avashyamud, which marked Shobhana’s comeback to Malayalam cinema after a brief hiatus.

Shobhana was last seen in the blockbuster Thudarum, alongside Mohanlal. Urvashi, who recently received the National award—her second—for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Ullozhukku, has Paablo Paarty coming up next. It is a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual, which also stars her daughter, Teja Lakshmi.
