As informed earlier by the makers, the release trailer of Dies Irae was shared online on Saturday. It is an extension of the earlier-released teaser and trailer, in which we saw Pranav Mohanlal's lead character being haunted by a supernatural presence. The new trailer ends with an eerie shot of a woman who seems to have died by drowning, blinking her cloudy eyes.

Dies Irae is directed by Rahul Sadasivan, his fourth horror outing after Red Rain, Bhoothakaalam, and Bramayugam. Rahul himself has scripted the new film based on some true incidents. Jibin Gopinath and Manohari Joy also essay crucial roles in the film, which brings back the same set of technicians from Bramayugam, including cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, composer Christo Xavier, production designer Jothish Shankar, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.

Dies Irae is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, who also backed Bramayugam. While the film is originally scheduled to hit screens on October 31 as a Halloween release, the makers are planning paid premieres on October 30 in select centres in India and abroad.
