A behind-the-scenes video from the UK schedule of Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming espionage thriller Patriot has set social media buzzing, thanks to Mammootty’s striking salt-and-pepper look. Clad in a long black overcoat and thick grey scarf with dark sunglasses, the veteran star is seen stepping out in effortless winter style, drawing instant comparisons from fans to Thomas Shelby of Peaky Blinders.

The clip, shared from the London shoot, begins with a brief glimpse of actor Zarin Shihab, who is rumoured to play Mammootty’s young partner in the film. Moments later, Mammootty makes his entry, walking towards the set with his team, exuding the cool composure and presence synonymous to the veteran actor.

The UK leg of Patriot follows the completion of the Hyderabad schedule earlier this month and is expected to run till mid-December. The film, backed by Anto Joseph along with C R Salim and Subhash Manuel, features an elite ensemble that also includes Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathy and Darshana Rajendran.

Touted as one of Malayalam cinema’s most ambitious political thrillers in recent years, Patriot marks the much-awaited on-screen reunion of Mammootty and Mohanlal after more than a decade. The film is scheduled for a grand Vishu 2026 release.
