Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali's Mirage, directed by Jeethu Joseph, will start streaming on SonyLIV from October 20. The mystery thriller, which was released in theatres on September 19, opened to mixed reviews.

The film follows Abhirami (Aparna), whose boyfriend Kiran (Hakim Shahjahan) disappears with sensitive company data from a dubious financial firm. Pursued by both the police and employers, Abhirami joins forces with investigative journalist Ashwin (Asif) to uncover the truth, leading to a web of deception and shifting loyalties in this twist-laden thriller.

Mirage is jointly scripted by Jeethu and Srinivas Abrol, based on a story by Aparna R Tarakad. The film also features Hannah Reji Koshy and Sampath in key roles. It reunited Jeethu with his frequent collaborators—cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, editor Vinayak VS and music director Vishnu Shyam—who are also part of the filmmaker's upcoming project Valathu Vashathe Kallan, starring Joju George and Biju Menon.

Mirage is produced by Mukesh R Mehta, Jatin M Sethi and C V Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "It seems consumed by its obsession with twists. In the final stretch, a barrage of reveals is hurled at us; a few might surprise momentarily, but they rarely feel earned. What makes a Jeethu Joseph twist memorable is not the jolt itself, but the careful build-up that precedes it. Mirage, unfortunately, seldom offers that organic progression, relying instead on an overload of shocks that ultimately dilute their impact."
