Mohanlal's upcoming film with debutant director Austin Dan Thomas will begin shooting on December 5, confirmed its producer Ashiq Usman. Speaking to Cue Studio, Ashiq added that the film's shooting is largely planned in Thodupuzha, with brief schedules in Mumbai and Sabarimala.

Tentatively titled L 365, the film has Mohanlal playing a policeman's role after a gap. It is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi, who previously scripted Ishq, Adi, Maharani, and the dialogues in Alappuzha Gymkhana. The upcoming film has music by Jakes Bejoy, who collaborated with Mohanlal earlier this year in Thudarum.

Austin Dan Thomas was the chief associate director in Anjaam Pathiraa, also produced by Ashiq Usman. He has also done brief roles in films such as Vijay Superum Pournamiyum, Ganagandharvan, and Thallumaala. Earlier in 2023, Austin had announced a film with Jayasurya, which was supposed to mark the scripting debut of late editor Nishad Yusuf. However, the project didn't materialise.

Mohanlal’s next release will be Vrusshabha, the multilingual period drama, slated to hit screens on November 6. He is currently working on Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph. The actor reprises his role of Georgekutty, while Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil also reprise their roles.

Mohanlal also has Patriot, co-starring Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara, in production.
