Veteran actor Mammootty has flown to Dubai en route to London to begin the next leg of Patriot, filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan’s highly anticipated political espionage thriller. The new schedule, expected to kick off on October 15, comes after the team wrapped up the Hyderabad leg earlier this month.

A video of Mammootty arriving at the Chennai International Airport on Friday, accompanied by his family, including actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan, has taken social media by storm. Fans are widely sharing the clip for a heartwarming moment where Dulquer is seen giving his father a gentle peck on the cheek before seeing him off, a gesture that has melted hearts across the internet.

The London schedule marks the penultimate leg of Patriot, which is slated to wrap up by mid-December. The film, produced by Anto Joseph along with C R Salim and Subhash Manuel, boasts an elite ensemble cast featuring Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, Revathy and Zarin Shihab, among others.

Cinematographer Manush Nandan, known for his work in Dunki and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, is behind the lens for the project. Set against a backdrop of power, surveillance and state control, Patriot promises to be a high-stakes thriller. The film’s teaser, released earlier this year, generated immense buzz for reuniting Mammootty and Mohanlal on screen after more than a decade. With filming progressing on schedule, Patriot is gearing up for a grand Vishu 2026 release.
