Actor Antony Varghese sustained injuries to his hand while filming an action sequence involving an elephant for his upcoming film Kattalan. The incident occurred earlier this week during the filming of the high-budget action thriller in Thailand. Sources close to Antony confirmed that the actor is currently resting and recovering under medical supervision back home. The unexpected injury has pushed the next schedule by two weeks until Antony makes a full recovery.

Directed by debutant Paul George, Kattalan is set against the backdrop of ivory smuggling. Planned as a multilingual film, it also features Rajisha Vijayan, Kabir Singh Duhan, Jagadish, Sunil, Raj Tirandasu, rapper Baby Jean, Shibin S. Raghav, and singer-turned-actor Hanan Shaah. It is produced by Marco-fame Shareef Muhammed's Cubes Entertainments.

Kattalan has cinematography by Renadive, editing by Shameer Muhammed, and music by Kantara composer B Ajaneesh Loknath. Action choreography is handled by Kecha Khamphakdee, known for his work in Ong-Bak 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Jawan.

This is not the first time Antony has been injured during a shoot. The actor, who has a penchant for performing high-voltage action, had suffered similar injuries while working on Jallikattu and RDX.
