Isle of the Golden Swan trailer: Anand Ekarshi-Prakash Raj's short film promises a sombre, introspective drama

Billed as “an unflinching journey into the minds torn between duty, desire and the perilous cost of love,” it marks Anand Ekarshi’s follow-up to his debut Aattam

The trailer of National Award-winning filmmaker Anand Ekarshi’s upcoming English short film Isle of the Golden Swan was released on Wednesday. Described by the makers as “an unflinching journey into the minds torn between duty, desire and the perilous cost of love,” the film marks Anand’s follow-up to his acclaimed debut Aattam.

Isle of the Golden Swan features Prakash Raj, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Kavya Ramachandran in the lead roles, with Aattam actor Zarin Shihab making a special appearance. The cast also includes Ajit Koshy, Sarita Sreenivas, Eva Wouts, Megha Ranjini Krishnan, Gayathri Satish, Balagopal Bose, Krishna Raj, Vybhav Amar Shanthi, and Sonika Meenakshi in supporting parts. On the technical front, the film brings together cinematographer Anend C Chandran, editor Mahesh Bhuvanend, composer Basil CJ, and sound designer Renganaath Ravee. It is produced by Vinoda Kailas.

While further details about the release date remain under wraps, the trailer of Isle of the Golden Swan promises a beautifully shot, sombre, introspective drama exploring emotional conflict and moral boundaries.

Anand Ekarshi’s debut feature Aattam, a gripping ensemble drama centred on a theatre troupe, earned widespread critical acclaim and won three major honours at the 70th National Film Awards, including Best Feature Film, Best Script, and Best Editing.
