As Vismaya Mohanlal prepares for her acting debut in Thudakkam (The Beginning), the artist and author has returned to her fitness roots. The daughter of veteran actor Mohanlal shared a new update on social media, revealing that she is back training in Muay Thai at FITKOH Fitness Camp in Thailand, a place she has often described as her “favourite” for both physical and mental rejuvenation.
Vismaya posted a carousel of photos and videos from her latest training sessions, showcasing her intense workouts with coach Tony Olin. Captioning the post, she wrote, “My favourite place to train in FITKOH Fitness Camp Thailand. It was so nice to be back and train again 🥊💫 and as always a big thank you to my coach Tony Olin 😊✨.” Muay Thai is a Thai martial art and full-contact combat sport that uses stand-up striking, sweeps, and various clinching techniques.
The update was seen by many as a hint that she is wrapping up her training before the filming of Thudakkam starts later this year. The film, written and directed by 2018: Everyone Is A Hero filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph, marks Vismaya’s official entry into Malayalam cinema under Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas banner. Given her background in martial arts and the film’s title design hinting at an action-oriented theme, people have been speculating that her debut role might involve significant physical training and stunts.
Beyond her upcoming acting career, Vismaya has already carved a distinct identity as a poet, painter and author. Her 2020 book Grains of Stardust offered an intimate glimpse into her introspective world through poems and illustrations, and she later gained behind-the-scenes experience as an assistant director on her father’s directorial debut Barroz.
