Rishab Shetty and his Kantara: Chapter 1, the prequel to his 2022 blockbuster, is the current talk of the town. The Kannada language film, released in multiple languages, has taken a massive opening at the box office, with critics also heaping praise on Rishab's craft, performance and the overall technical brilliance.
Congratulatory messages are pouring in on social media from the actor-director's fans and industry insiders, with Malayalam actor Jayasurya being the latest. He congratulated Rishab by sharing a few photos from one of their recent meetings at his place in Kochi. The two were earlier spotted together while visiting the Mookambika temple in Kollur, Mangalore, last October.
Recently, Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly also lavished praise on Rishab and his team, calling the film 'absolutely stunning'.
As per reports, Kantara: Chapter 1 went past the ₹100-crore mark in just two days and is now heading towards 150 crores. Trade experts expect the collections to spike as the word of mouth has largely been favourable. The mythological period action drama also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in prominent roles.
Meanwhile, Jayasurya has Kathanar, Aadu 3, and an untitled film with Anugraheethan Antony director Prince Joy coming up. While Aadu 3 is slated for release on March 19, 2026, the makers of the other two films are yet to announce their release plans. The shoot for both films has already been wrapped up.
