Sagar Surya, who gained plenty of appreciation for his performance opposite Joju George in Pani last year, met actor-director Rishab Shetty recently. Sagar posted a photograph featuring himself with Rishab on Instagram the other day and shared a humorous anecdote about their meeting. "On seeing me, he joked, "What a psycho you are... Do you have a knife in your hand? I'm scared to take a photo with you!" wrote Sagar about Rishab. The actor revealed that it was a fun reference by Rishab to his character in Pani.
Sagar Surya also said that he feels "honoured to meet the legendary Rishab Shetty" and "humbled" by the simplicity with which the latter conducts himself. He also conveyed his best wishes to Kantara: Chapter 1, calling it "a true masterpiece in the making!"
Sagar played a vengeful character with a dangerous sense of lust and a penchant for violence in Pani, starring Joju George in his directorial debut. In our review, Vignesh Madhu wrote, "Sagar Surya and Junaiz VP are brilliant as these boys, who have no particular reason to be such terrorising outlaws... How these two nobodies manage to outsmart and—even—intimidate a whole army of gangsters and cops is what makes Pani interesting."
Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 has been setting the box office ringing ever since its release last Thursday. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, it has already grossed nearly 100 crore, including the money from paid promotions, from theatres worldwide.
