The makers of the Vishnu Unnikrishnan-starrer Magic Mushrooms announced on Saturday that the film will release in theatres on January 16, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the unveiling of a new poster showcasing its principal cast.
Directed by Nadirshah, Magic Mushrooms marks the filmmaker's third collaboration with Vishnu after Amar Akbar Antony and Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. The upcoming film, scripted by Akash Dev, is billed as a feel-good family entertainer. Akshaya Udayakumar stars opposite Vishnu as the female lead, with supporting performances from Harisree Ashokan, Jaffer Idukki, Johny Antony, Biju Kuttan and Sidharth Bharathan.
Shot across Thodupuzha, Erattupetta and Ottapalam, Magic Mushrooms has cinematography by Sujith Vaassudev, editing by John Kutty and a background score by Manikandan Ayyappa. Nadirshah has also composed the songs. The film is produced by Ashraf Pilakkal under the Manjadi Creation banner, with distribution by Bhavana Studios.
Vishnu's upcoming slate also includes Revolver Rinko and Bheeshmar, co-starring Dhyan Sreenivasan.
