Vilaayath Budha crosses the Rs 1 crore mark, Eko narrowly misses mark in Day 1 box office collections

Vilaayath Budha and Eko were released on November 21, with both having a story set in the forests of Kerala

Vilaayath Budha and Eko were two Malayalam films, with stories set in the forests, that released on November 21. According to Sacnilk, the former has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark, while the latter almost reached the milestone.

The Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Vilaayath Budha, collected Rs 1.7 crores at the Indian box office on the day of its release. Meanwhile, Eko collected Rs 80 lakhs at the Indian box office.

Apart from Prithviraj, Jayan Nambiar's Vilaayath Budha also stars Shammy Thilakan, Anu Mohan, Dhruvan, Kiran Peethambaran, Teejay Arunachalam, TSK, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Rajasree Nair. It is based on GR Indugopan’s acclaimed novel of the same name.

Meanwhile Eko is directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and stars Sandeep Pradeep, Narain, Saurabh Sachdeva, Biana Momin, Binu Pappu. It reunites the team behind Kishkindha Kaandam after a year.
