George Philip Roy, who is directing Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara's next film Dear Students alongside his co-director Sandeep Kumar, took to social media to wish Nayanthara on her birthday. Sharing working stills and behind-the-scenes images from the film, George wrote that collaborating with Nayanthara on the film allowed him to know the actor's human side. "Initially, I only knew the star you are ma'am... but today, after all the good times, the shoot and the journey we have endured together... I can proudly say I know a little more about 'The Human' that shines even more brighter than the glowing star you are ma'am..," wrote George. Dear Students marks Nayanthara's comeback into Malayalam cinema after 2022's Gold.
The filmmaker, for whom Dear Students marks a directorial debut, also revealed that the film will release theatrically in the near future. "Can't wait for our movie to hit the theatres soon," he added. It is produced by Nivin's banner Pauly Jr Pictures and Vineet Jain of Maverik Movies. The film also stars Mallika Sukumaran, Redin Kingsley, Suresh Krishna, Jagadish, Lal, Sharaf U Dheen, Aju Varghese, Shaju Sreedhar, Nandu, Johny Antony, and Edavela Babu.
Principal photography on Dear Students has been completed. Recently, the makers released a teaser, featuring Nivin and Nayanthara's characters.
