Rajesh Madhavan's directorial debut Pennum Porattum to premiere at IFFI

Actor Rajesh Madhavan’s directorial debut Pennum Porattum (Girl and the Fool’s Parade) has been selected to premiere at the Gala Session of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28. Earlier, the film was also selected for screening at the 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) under the Malayalam Cinema Today category.

Announcing the development on social media, Rajesh shared a new poster of the film and wrote, “It has been a long and challenging journey for all of us, and we’re grateful that Pennum Porattum is finally finding its rightful way to reach its audience. PePo now begins its official journey. Heartfelt thanks to our entire team and to everyone who believed in this film from the very beginning.”

Billed as a comedy entertainer featuring mostly newcomers, Pennum Porattum is produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla under the banner of STK Frames in association with Binu George Alexander. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Sabin Uralikandy, editing by Chaman Chakko and music by Dawn Vincent.

Rajesh, who began his film career as an actor in Maheshinte Prathikaaram, has since worked as an assistant and creative director on several acclaimed Malayalam films, including Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Kumbalangi Nights. He is widely recognised for his performances in Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, Nna Thaan Case Kodu and its spin-off Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha.
