Rahul Sadasivan, the maker of horror films such as Bhoothakaalam, Bramayugam and Dies Irae, and Kalyani Priyadarshan are two people from Kerala to feature in the top ten of IMDB's list of most popular Indian celebrities for this week. Remarkably, Rahul's rank jumped from 828 last week to 10 this week. On the other hand, Kalyani ranks sixth this week as compared to last week's 43rd position. Dies Irae's banner, YNOT Studios shared the IMDB news and described Rahul as the "Man of the Moment". Fans from a sample of more than 200 million determine the popularity of these celebrities, trending worldwide.

The positive reception of Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal in the lead role, and the OTT release of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra are among the reasons why Rahul and Kalyani have become more popular. Critics in general praised Rahul's latest horror film, with some even calling it a masterpiece. On the other hand, Kalyani's popularity shot through the roof with Lokah dropping on JioHotstar.

In a recent video, a small child told his parents that he wanted to see "Chandra chechi" from the film, and Kalyani herself appeared in video to comfort the kid. The child asked Kalyani to visit their residence in Guruvayur and even asked her to video call him from time to time—two requests she said she would try to satisfy.
