As the film continues its successful theatrical run, the Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum is set to begin streaming on JioHotstar on May 30, the streamer announced on Monday. According to the makers, the Tharun Moorthy directorial, which hit screens on April 25, has grossed over Rs 200 crore at the global box office.

Jointly scripted by Tharun and KR Sunil, Thudarum follows Shanmugham aka Benz (Mohanlal), an ordinary man whose peaceful life is upended when his family becomes the target of corrupt police officers. The film earned appreciation mainly for Tharun's direction, Jakes Bejoy's music, and the performances of the lead cast. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Benz was noted as his most compelling act in recent years. Celebrated advertising filmmaker Prakash Varma’s portrayal of the antagonist has also been widely discussed. Its ensemble cast includes Shobana, Farhaan Faasil, Thomas Mathew, Binu Pappu, Bharathiraja, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Irshad Ali.

Thudarum is produced by M Renjith under the banner of Rejaputhra Visual Media.
