Mohanlal starrer Chotta Mumbai to rerelease in 4K on this date

The film has been remastered in 4K Dolby Atmos

Earlier, we reported about Mohanlal's 2007 film Chotta Mumbai hitting theatres again on May 21, the actor's birthday, but it did not release then. Now, Mohanlal confirmed June 06 as the new rerelease date of Chotta Mumbai. The film has been remastered in 4K Dolby Atmos.

The action-comedy from director Anwar Rasheed stars Mohanlal as a character named Vasco Da Gama, also called 'Thala' as he leads a small gang in Fort Kochi. The film also stars Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manikuttan, and Bijukuttan as Thala's sidekicks. Sai Kumar portrays Thala's father and Bhavana his love interest. The film is still remembered for its comedy bits involving the aforesaid characters. Kalabhavan Mani plays the villain in Chotta Mumbai.

Anwar Rasheed directed the film from Benny P Nayarambalam's screenplay. Produced by Maniyanpilla Raju, Ajayachandran Nair, and Raghuchandran Nair under the banner Sree Bhadra Pictures, Chotta Mumbai released on April 07, 2007. It became a blockbuster at the box office, outperforming Mammootty and Amal Neerad's Big B, which released a week later, had a modest collection at the box office, and became a cult classic over time.
