The release of Moonwalk has been postponed to May 30, announced the makers on Wednesday through social media. The film, directed by debutant Vinod AK, was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on May 23. It is presented by acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery and co-produced by Listin Stephen of Magic Frames banner alongside Jasni Ahamad.

Set in late-1980s Kerala, Moonwalk is inspired by true events and follows a group of youngsters captivated by the global Michael Jackson phenomenon and their efforts to master breakdancing.The film, featuring over a hundred newcomers, is jointly scripted by Vinod, Mathew Varghis, and Sunil Gopalakrishnan. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Ansar Shah, composer Prashant Pillai, and editors Deepu Joseph and Kiran Das.

Lijo, in a promotional video, likened his excitement for Moonwalk to the anticipation that surrounded Angamaly Diaries, the 2017 film that became a breakthrough hit for its cast of fresh talent.
