Even as his third directorial Thudarum, starring Mohanlal and Shobana, continues its successful run in theatres, filmmaker Tharun Moorthy announced on Thursday that he will next work on a film titled Torpedo. The film stars Naslen, Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das, and Ganapathi in key roles. Torpedo is among the two projects in Malayalam Arjun Das has signed up for, the other being a romantic-comedy with Ahammed Khabeer. It also reunites Tharun with his frequent collaborator Binu Pappu, who serves as a screenwriter here. Tharun and Binu have already worked on Operation Java, Saudi Vellakka, and Thudarum as a director and an actor, respectively. Produced by Ashiq Usman under his namesake banner, the film has music by Sushin Shyam.

The technical team of Torpedo also includes cinematographer Jimshi Khalid (Thallumaala and Alappuzha Gymkhana), editor Vivek Harshan (Manjummel Boys and Aavesham), and sound designer Vishnu Govind (Aavesham and Rifle Club).

The makers are yet to reveal plot details. However, a part of the caption for Tharun's announcement reads, "We dive into deeper waters," which hints at a story set against the sea.
