Mammootty’s PR team denies cancer rumours, confirms he is healthy

Veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty has dismissed recent rumours regarding his health, with his PR team confirming that he is in good health and that all speculation is entirely unfounded. Social media had been rife with claims that the 73-year-old actor had been diagnosed with cancer and had stepped away from filming for treatment. Others suggested that he had been hospitalised due to illness. However, these reports have now been debunked, with his team clarifying that his temporary break was simply due to Ramzan. “It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal,” his PR team told Mid-Day.

The film in question, directed by Mahesh Narayanan and tentatively titled MMMN, will see Mammootty and Mohanlal reunite on screen after more than a decade, Featuring an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara and Kunchacko Boban, its production spans multiple locations worldwide.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is gearing up for the release of Bazooka, an action thriller directed by Deeno Dennis, set to hit screens worldwide on April 10 during the Vishu season. With a career spanning over four decades and three National Film Awards to his name, the actor remains one of the most revered figures in Indian cinema. His son, Dulquer Salmaan, has also carved out a successful acting career.
