Kunchacko Boban's Officer on Duty will start streaming on Netflix from March 20, the makers have announced the other day. The film, directed by debutant Jithu Ashraf, was released theatrically on February 20 and received mostly positive reviews. It is scripted by Shahi Kabir, who previously penned Joseph and Nayattu, and directed Ela Veezha Poonchira.

An emotional crime thriller, Officer on Duty also features Priyamani, Jagadish and Vishak Nair in key roles, with supporting performances from Manoj KU, Srikant Murali, Unni Lalu and Ramzan. The film’s cinematography is by Kannur Squad director Roby Varghese Raj, with music composed by Jakes Bejoy and editing by Chaman Chakko. It is produced by Martin Prakkat Films in collaboration with The Green Room, headed by Siby Chavara and Ranjith Nair.

Apart from Malayalam, Officer On Duty will have dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Debutant director Jithu Ashraf shows great urgency with how he sets up the initial half of the film. Harishankar's investigation into a petty chain case leads him to a series of grave crimes that also involve his family. Unlike Shahi's usual works, the screenplay here is racy without offering much of a breathing space, neither for the characters in it nor for the viewers."
