Earlier, we reported about Jayasurya and Vinayakan headlining a new feature, helmed by Anugraheethan Antony director Prince Joy. Billed as a fantasy comedy, the upcoming film's shooting has officially commenced in Kochi. The production began on Saturday with a traditional pooja ceremony. Actor Sunny Wayne performed a switch-on ritual, while Jayasurya’s wife, Saritha Jayasurya, gave the first clap. Scripted by James Sebastian, it is produced by writer-filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas and Irshad M Hassan under the banner of Nerambokku.

The yet-to-be-titled film also features rapper Baby Jean in a pivotal role. It also stars Suresh Krishna, Indrans, Manikandan R Achari, Nihal, and several newcomers. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Vishnu Sharma, editing by Shameer Muhammed and music by Shaan Rahman. Apart from Kochi, the film will be shot in Kollam as well. This marks another collaboration between Jayasurya and Vinayakan, who have previously appeared together in films such as Chathikkatha Chanthu, Iyobinte Pusthakam and the Aadu series. They are also expected to reunite for the third instalment of Aadu, written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas.

Meanwhile, Jayasurya is gearing up for the release of Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer, a supernatural fantasy directed by Home-fame Rojin Thomas. Based on the legend of Kadamattathu Kathanar, the film is considered a groundbreaking project in Malayalam cinema, featuring virtual production technology. It will also mark the Malayalam debut of Anushka Shetty, alongside Prabhu Deva and Sandy in significant roles.

Vinayakan was last seen in Thekku Vadakku, alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu. Up next, the Jailer actor has the Mammootty-starrer Kalamkaval awaiting release.
