The makers of Koodal, starring Bibin George in the lead, have announced that the film will be released in theatres on June 20. The announcement was made via social media, accompanied by the unveiling of a new poster. It is directed by Shanu Kakkoor and Shafi Epikkad, who also co-wrote the script. Rafi Mankada and Yasir Parathakkad are credited as co-writers.

According to the makers, Koodal is set against the backdrop of camping and explores the vibrancy and camaraderie of contemporary youth. The film also stars Mareena Michael Kurisingal, Riya, Niya Varghese, Anu Sona, Vineeth Thattil, Muhammad Rafi, Sam Jeevan, Ali Arangadath, Lali P M, Sneha Vijayan, Archana Ranjith, and Tamil actor Gajaraj. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Shajeer Pappa, editor Jarshaj Kommer and music directors Sibu Sukumaran, Nikhil Anilkumar, Albin S Joseph, and Prasad Chembrasseri. Koodal is produced by Jithin K V under the banner of P and J Productions.

Bibin was last seen in Gumasthan alongside Jaise Jose and Dileesh Pothan. The film, directed by Amal K Joby, was a crime thriller.
