With just a month to go before its theatrical release for Onam, the makers of Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad's Hridayapoorvam have unveiled a delightful behind-the-scenes video from the sets. The clip highlights the cheerful camaraderie and laughter shared by the cast and crew during shooting. Slated to hit cinemas on August 28, the upcoming film marks the 20th collaboration between the veteran actor-director duo, whose creative partnership has spanned over four decades. Their last film together was Ennum Eppozhum, released nearly ten years ago in 2015.
Recently, Mohanlal and Sathyan made a joint guest appearance on a special television episode of Asianet's music reality show Star Singer, celebrating legendary singer KS Chithra’s birthday. During the show, the two reminisced about their enduring bond, with Sathyan revealing that it was Mohanlal who instantly came up with the title Hridayapoorvam the moment he heard the story. The veteran filmmaker also shared an anecdote about a past misunderstanding between the two, likely referencing the time between the commercial failure of Pingami and their reunion 12 years later with Rasathanthram. “Mohanlal didn’t even know there was a fallout,” Sathyan quipped.
Set in Pune, Hridayapoorvam features Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, alongside an ensemble cast including Premalu-fame Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita, Siddique, Nishan, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan. The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by debutant Sonu TP, based on a story by Sathyan’s son, Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum's director, Akhil Sathyan.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, Hridayapoorvam is shaping up to be a heartwarming festive release. This Onam, it will share screens with other big titles, including Fahadh Faasil’s Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Kalyani Priyadarshan–Naslen’s Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, and Shane Nigam’s Balti.
