The official team of actor-filmmaker-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran has issued a strong clarification after major Malayalam news outlets, including Manorama News and Reporter TV, published false statements attributed to him regarding the third instalment of the Lucifer franchise. In an official note shared by the Prithviraj Official Network (POFFACTIO), the team expressed deep disappointment over what they called “entirely untrue” reports circulating in the media. The statement emphasised that Prithviraj has made no public comments about the proposed third part of the franchise, referred to as L3, and urged media outlets to rely only on verified sources, such as official promotional interviews for his latest film, Sarzameen.

“It appears this misinformation originated from a fake profile ID as part of a hate campaign,” the note said. The team has requested all channels to cross-check facts before reporting, and to take immediate steps to correct and republish accurate information, especially in the interest of informing the public and Prithviraj’s well-wishers. The Lucifer franchise, headlined by Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj himself, began with Lucifer (2019), followed by L2: Empuraan, which released earlier this year. L3 is expected to conclude the political action trilogy, although no official details have been confirmed by the makers regarding its current status.

POFFACTIO concluded its message by calling for a professional and responsible approach from the media in handling such matters.
