A video of Fahadh Faasil using a phone with limited functionality became a hot topic on social media the other day. Fahadh opened up about it in a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India. The actor revealed that he did not anticipate the virality of the moment, because he has been using a "dumb phone" for a year now. Fahadh also revealed that he would like to be accessible only through email communication, although he wondered whether it would be possible. He discussed his desire to bring a disciplined lifestyle where he would be able to check and reply to emails over a laptop or an iPad.

The actor also addressed whether his use of a basic phone has anything to do with his disinterest in social media. He revealed that he used to be on social media at its nascent stage but only to post work-related content. "I was not doing well with it," said the actor. However, he does not disregard the utility of smartphones and social media. Rather, he said that he has found a way to access all the content he needs for work. Despite his lack of activity on social media or smartphone, Fahadh's creative team and the cultural climate at a particular time help him keep up with what is trending and how to leverage it for his work.

On the work front, the actor plays a key role in director Sudheesh Sankar's Maareesan, which reunites him with his Maamannan co-star Vadivelu. Fahadh Faasil's upcoming films include Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Karate Chandran, Patriot, and Don’t Trouble the Trouble.
